Multi-Period Processing

Finit Solutions has helped clients utilize the multi-load functionality in FDM to create dramatic time savings. The multi-load functionality has long existed in FDM; it allows for the loading of up to 12 periods of data through one data file. Some of the multi-load solutions that Finit helps clients implement include:

• Creating direct links to certain systems (Oracle/PeopleSoft ERP’s and GL’s, various Hyperion Systems) in order to pull the data directly into FDM. This eliminates the manual process of creating load files, eliminates the potential for manual errors during the data load process and can save corporate users vast amounts of time.
• Incorporating batch loading to fully automate the entire process from pulling the data from a source system into FDM to loading it to a target Hyperion Financial System.
• In cases where a direct pull from the source system is not possible through regular scripting, creating automated .bat files to kick off the data pull and store the source file in a folder on the server. The FDM batch process then grabs the multi-period file and loads it through FDM to the target system automatically.

Finit's clients use multi-load to greatly speed up the process of loading large, multi-period files, especially is cases where the forecast and budget must be loaded frequently and in multiple iterations.
